Anti-wrinkle injections
Anti-wrinkle injections commonly referred to as Botulinum Toxin are used to smooth static lines and dynamic wrinkles on the face for a younger, more rejuvenated look. The most often used to treat:
- Frown lines
- Worry lines
- Crows’ feet
- Gummy smile
- Lines on the nose known as ‘bunny lines’
- Wrinkles around the lines
- Lower face treatment to improve jawline and appearance of neck.
- Chin dimpling
Botulinum toxin, often referred to as Botox® , is a naturally occurring protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. The toxin blocks the transition of chemical messages sent from the nerve to cause the muscle to contract. Without these messages, the muscle stays in a resting state until the ‘messengers’ recover. This recovery takes approximately 12 to 18 weeks on average.
After treatment it is expected that you will start to see an improvement within 2 or 3 days. The full effect usually takes within 2-3 weeks. You may be invited to attend a review appointment at 14 – 21 days to assess and adjust your treatment results, if necessary.
There may be only a partial reduction in movement this very much depends on the amount administered and location of product placement. This is not a one size fits all treatment and may be tailored to suit your individual requirements and expected treatment outcomes’ you will discuss this with your clinician at the time of the initial consultation.
All botulinum toxins are prescription only medicines (POM). We use only Licensed brands of botulinum toxin A such as,’ Botox®, Azzalure®, Bocouture®, Xeomin®, and Dysport®. Botulinum Toxin is administered by a healthcare professional with specialist training.
After treatment it is expected that you will start to see an improvement within 2 or 3 days. The full result may be judged at 2-3 weeks. You may be invited to attend a review appointment at 2-3 weeks where the success of the treatment may be assessed and adjustments to your personal treatment plan made, if necessary.
All treatments carry a degree of risk. All risks and complications will be discussed with you at the initial consultation and prior to any treatment being agreed. Side effects include, but are not limited to:
Bruising
Swelling at injection sites
Redness at injection sites
Asymmetry of expression
Drooping of the brow, or eyelid (Ptosis)
Headache or a sensation of ‘tightness’ or ‘heaviness’
Adverse events are uncommon, usually occur within a few days of treatment and are expected to be temporary, usually resolving spontaneously within weeks. Our healthcare professionals will provide aftercare advice aimed to minimise risk and promote speedy recovery from any expected side effects.
Treatment to reduce excessive sweating/ hyperhidrosis
Sweating is necessary to control body temperature during times of exercise and in warm/hot surroundings, and is a normal response to a rise in temperature or anxiety. Sweating is regulated by the sympathetic nervous system. In about 1% of the population, this system is revved-up and works at a very high level, causing sweating to occur at inappropriate times, far in excess of the amount necessary to maintain normal body temperature. It can occur in many different areas of the body, and the condition is known as Hyperhidrosis, which means ‘excessive sweating’. It affects both sexes equally, and all races.
How does this treatment work?
Botulinum toxin is injected into the affected area, and works by blocking the nerves that supply the sweat glands, stopping them from producing sweat.
Botulinum toxin injections work well as a safe and effective treatment, with minimal side effects, but top-up treatments are usually required after about six or seven months and it is not easily available on the NHS.
Gummy Smile Treatment
Some people feel that when they smile they show too much of their gums, or that their gums are simply too prominent when they smile – this is often referred to as a ‘gummy smile’. Gummy Smile is a phenomenon that when some people smile, their upper lip elevates too far above their upper teeth, exposing gums and producing an unattractive smile. One of the causes is a hyperactive muscle which elevates the upper lip. Occasionally, the gummy smile is also aggravated by a thin upper lip that further contributes to the problem by exposing the upper gum even more. Fortunately, gummy smile can be simply and effectively corrected with Botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox) injections to reduce the activity of the muscle that elevates the upper lip.
How does this treatment work?
A small amount of Botulinum toxin will be injected at both sides of the junction of nostril and nose to mouth fold to weaken the muscles.
Botulinum toxin, often referred to as Botox® is a naturally occurring protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. The toxin blocks the transition of chemical messages sent from the nerve to cause the muscle to contract. Without these messages, the muscle stays in a resting state until the ‘messengers’ recover.
Jaw Slimming Treatment
The masseter muscle is the muscle which runs along your jawline near the ear. You can feel if you clench your jaw tightly. It is used to move your lower jaw up and down and side to side. Some people have overdeveloped masseter muscles, which can present as a wide, square jawline, teeth grinding (bruxism) and jaw pain.
If your primary concerns are of a cosmetic nature, an experienced, medically qualified aesthetic practitioner will be able to offer an appropriate treatment.
However, if jaw pain (e.g TMJ) or teeth grinding are your main concern, you should see your GP or your dentist first to rule out other problems and to explore other treatment options.
Botulinum Toxin neuromodulators such as Botox®, Vistabel®, Dysport, Xeomen or Azzalure are potent neurotoxins derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.
Muscle contraction happens when nerves release a neurotransmitter (acetylcholine) onto muscle cells, causing those cells to contract. When Botulinum toxin is injected into a muscle, the release of acetylcholine from the nerves stimulating that muscle is prevented.
The muscle contractions are weakened, preventing the masseter muscle from contracting so much. Following the first treatment, the masseter muscle will atrophy (waste away slightly). This will result in the jaw line becoming more ‘v-shaped’ and less square.
A side effect is that you will experience a reduction in jaw clenching and/or teeth grinding.
Skin Boosters & Bioremodellers
What are Skinboosters?
Skinboosters (also called injectable moisturisers) are injectable skin treatments which produce a refreshed, plumped yet natural look. Treatments like Profhilo®, Redensity 1 and Sunekos are an excellent choice if you want to improve skin texture and deliver a huge dose of long-lasting hydration.
As we age, particularly after 30, the amount of collagen, fat and elastin in the skin decreases distinctly. Resulting in a loss of volume, the appearance of fine lines and a general dulling of the skin. Treatments like Profhilo® and Redensity 1 are the perfect rejuvenating treatment to combat these signs of skin ageing, deeply hydrating the skin and improving its overall health.
Primarily, skin boosters are used to treat the face, but it can also be used to rejuvenate the neck, décolletage, hands, arms and even knees.
Skinboosters are an injectable skin treatment made from highly concentrated, highly purified hyaluronic acid (HA) and/ or vitamins and amino acids. Some skinboosters, like Profhilo®, are injected into 10 specific areas of the face, known as the BAP technique.
Others, like Redensity-1 or Sunekos 200/1200, are injected in regularly spaced “blebs” or in the linear threads using blunt cannula in the areas that need hydration and collagen boost.
One injected, the product then spreads under the surface of the skin where it immediately deeply hydrates the skin, due to the hydrophilic (water-atracting) properties of the hyaluronic acid.
By stimulating collagen and elastin synthesis, that result in plumper, tighter, smoother, suppler skin, Skinboosters act as ‘bio-remodellers’. It is a great way to restore the glow on your skin.
Do:
Keep hydrated
Avoid sun exposure, alcohol intake and any blood thinning medication.
Don’t:
Use make up for 24-48 hours after treatment
Do strenuous exercise for 24 hours – sweating can enable bacteria to enter the channels created during the treatment
Take hot showers or baths, or use saunas for 48 hours after your treatment

Polynucleotides Bio-remodelling Treatment
Polynucleotides are an injectable, skin-boosting, regenerative treatment that has gained popularity in recent years. Polynucleotides, also called PN or PDRN are an injectable, skin-boosting, regenerative treatment that has gained popularity in recent years.
Like hyaluronic acid skin boosters, polynucleotides create dewy looking skin, adding a soft volume and hydration effect. In addition to this, polynucleotides work to boost fibroblast production, inducing tissue repair processes, reducing inflammatory processes, regulating melanogenesis and promoting hydration in the skin. Polynucleotides stimulate regeneration of the skin at the cellular level so it takes time to be seen visually in terms of improved texture, minimised pores and pigmentation.
Depending on the degree of ageing process and lifestyle factors your skin quality will improve gradually as the tissues regenerate following treatment.
Most notice a difference after 2-4 weeks, but your skin will continue to improve with optimum results expected about 3 months after the course of treatment has been completed. Annual maintenance treatments are recommended every 6 months.
Polynucleotides are exceptionally versatile. They can be used to treat both body and face, including necks, décolletage, the delicate eye area, back of hands, abdomen, thighs, knees, arms and stretch marks.
Polynucleotides treatment can also help to reduce scarring, hyperpigmentation, melasma, rosacea, general signs of facial ageing, eyebrow and scalp hair loss. They can also be used to help address post-menopause vaginal concerns.
Polynucleotides have moisturising and antioxidant properties which create an optimal environment within your skin to promote the natural growth of fibroblasts, in order to enhance tissue elasticity, tightness and overall health of the skin.
Starts from £325 per treatment. It is recommended that a course of treatments (usually 3 or more) is carried out 4-6 weeks apart for optimum results.
*Your practitioner will be able to advise you of your personal individualised treatment plan.
Dermal Fillers
As the skin ages, it gradually loses collagen, elastin and fat. These are the components of the skin that give it structure – the scaffolding of the skin. When present in high amounts, skin is supple, firm and plump. As the levels of these components decrease, our skin becomes thinner, more lined and wrinkled with reduced volume, plumpness and fullness.
Strategically placed fillers take the place of lost fat pads and collagen. Some even promote the production of collagen. This helps to restore the skin’s volume and fill deep wrinkles, thus giving the face a firmer, more youthful appearance. Not only are injectable fillers used to restore lost volume and firmness, they can also be used to sculpt and change the appearance of your face.
Dermal Fillers can be used for:
- Non-surgical Lip augmentation – probably the most common use of dermal fillers
Filling static, deep lines around the lips, the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial lines), smile lines, marionette lines and crow’s feet - Adding volume to sunken cheeks and weak chins
- Liquid or lunchtime face lift
- Rhinoplast
- Filling deep acne scars
- Rejuvenating ageing hands and necks.

Microsclerotherapy
Thread veins on the legs are a widespread condition, with women being more likely than men to develop them. These little purple or red veins that can appear from the top of the thigh to the ankle are not dangerous, although they can be unpleasant.
What exactly is microsclerotherapy therapy?
Spider veins or thread veins should not be confused with varicose veins, which are swollen and enlarged veins that are usually blue or dark purple in colour and commonly appear on the legs.
Microsclerotherapy (also known as sclerotherapy) is a very safe and effective way to remove unattractive, superficial spider veins and thread veins.
Microsclerotherapy involves injecting a medicinal solution – a sclerosing agent – straight into these damaged veins with a very small needle. The solution irritates the lining of the thread vein, forcing the vein walls to adhere together.
Blood ceases to flow via the leg veins, causing them to collapse. The residue is then absorbed by the body’s natural defence mechanism over a period of 2-4 weeks. Unwanted leg veins will vanish completely after a series of sclerotherapy treatments.
After microsclerotherapy treatment, your thread veins may appear worse at first, but they should disappear after two to three weeks because they are no longer loaded with blood. Depending on how many locations need to be treated, more than one treatment may be required.
Microsclerotherapy takes around 30 – 45 minutes. To avoid any complications, legs should not be shaved or moisturised. For three days after treatment, you must wear class 2 compression stockings, which must also be worn on long-flight trips.
This vein injection treatment is performed by a clinical nurse specialist with extensive expertise and years of experience. The procedure will be fully explained on the day of your treatment to make you feel at ease and relaxed.
There is no recovery time and you can resume your normal activities immediately, though you should avoid aerobic exercise for 24 hours and wear class 2 compression stockings for the first three days. Some bruising can occur and last for two weeks or longer in rare circumstances.
